This is a very good quality Bronze mantle clock dating to the first
the quarter 19th c. The bronze is in extremely good condition, depicting
a scholar. The base is made of sienna marble, which is also in good
condition and having a soft warm orange colour. The dial is signed
Petit Vasques, A Troyes. The movement stamped with a medallion award
and dated 1827. It has a silk suspension with an eight-day rack
striking movement sounding the hours and half on a nickel silver
bell.
The height is 18.5" and width 13".
