Duverdry and Bloquel makers from the French region
of St-Nicolas-d’Aliermont. This area of France is renowned for both
large and small firms of clock makers carriage clocks. They are
recorded as working from 1867.
Early carriage clocks were made in small cottages and parts assembled
and stamped accordingly. Later 1900+ they had a substantial premises
and were responsible for a significant number of carriage clocks
made for quality retailers. This particular clock and style was
I believe only made by Duverdry and Bloquel . The design to the
front of the clock is applied gilded brass, which is set behind
the glass which is hand engraved to simulate flowers.
The dial is cream white with blue numerals.
The movement has just been restored through our workshops
and is excelent condition and has its original lever escapement..
