An
impressive mahogany moon phase longcase by Thomas Hadley of Birmingham
recorded as working up until 1842. The stunning mahogany case has
had the best selected mahogany veneer with deep graining and flames.
The clock being a typical Birmingham style case design, has incredible
brass capitals to the hood and trunk of the clock,a good shaped
and figured door extenuating down to the gently shaped feet to the
base.
The dial benefiting from the phases of the moon also has a subsidiary
seconds and subsidiary date, this has been sensitively restored
/ conserved and retains much of the original ground..
The clock has been purchased from a private collector of clocks
whom had the clock restored some fifteen years ago, which explains
the good condition of the cabinet work.
The clock stands 95.5" tall
